CLLARO is in an exciting period of growth and we rely on the expertise and efforts of our amazing volunteers. Right now we are seeking volunteers for the following projects and programs:

Graphic Design Volunteer to re-imagine CLLARO’s logo and re-design our business cards
Marketing Volunteer to help us amplify the impact of our programming
Fundraising Volunteer to help us secure sponsors for our annual events
Metrics & Evaluation Volunteer to help guide program improvements
Policy Research Volunteer to research local effects of state and national policies

Employment Opportunities


  • Executive Director – Reports directly to CLLARO’s Board of Directors

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide organizational leadership to realize CLLARO’s mission.
  • Represent CLLARO as a visible and credible leader on issues that impact the Latina/o community.
  • Communicate effectively with the Board of Directors, CLLARO staff, and the broader community.
  • Coordinate the implementation of CLLARO’s strategic plan statewide.
  • Generate and implement fundraising strategies and activities including donor solicitations and grants coordination.
  • Supervise and develop staff.
  • Develop and oversee the budget and financials.
  • Manage program implementation and research development.
  • Oversee rapid response strategies on matters affecting the Latino/a community.
  • Oversee communications, including the annual report, newsletter, press releases, media events, and website.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the organization.


  • A demonstrated commitment to CLLARO’s mission.
  • Organizational leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience with revenue generation
  • Familiarity with issues affecting the Latino/a Community
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred

Qualified candidates will be willing to live in the Denver Metro area, work evenings and weekends, as needed, and travel throughout the state.


  • Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Compensation includes health benefits and paid annual vacation.

Unpaid Internship Opportunities

Program Intern

Program Interns will assist CLLARO’s Program Manager in coordinating three programs aimed at developing skilled community leaders in Colorado: the Capitol Fellows Program, the Community Leadership Training Program, Citizenship Now!, and the Civic Engagement Training

Key responsibilities and specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with preparation for program events and trainings prior to and on the day of events and trainings
  • Supporting the planning of upcoming specialized program and CLLARO events
  • Supporting the recruitment of participants for CLLARO events and trainings
  • Supporting the Interview process for CLLARO’s leadership programs
  • Coordinating and corresponding with CLLARO’s leadership program participants
  • Tracking progress and successes of CLLARO’s events and leadership programs to be shared through CLLARO’s website, newsletter, and social media sites
  • Training on CLLARO messaging and supporting social media content
  • Working occasional evenings and weekends
  • Traveling to offsite offices, which would be coordinated in advance

Qualifications/skills and knowledge requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication and time management skills.
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus.

Program Internship Application

Policy Research Intern

Policy and Research Interns will assist the Executive Director in researching issues important to the Latino community. This research will provide the basis for reports, briefing papers, corporate profiles, and articles for the general public, media, nonprofits, elected officials and government agencies.

Key responsibilities and specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Fact-checking publications
  • Assisting or leading data collection, synthesis and analysis
  • Assisting in media outreach
  • Producing printed and online materials such as action alerts, newsletters, and social media content
  • Attending or staffing meetings or legislative sessions.
  • Working occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Traveling to offsite offices, which would be coordinated in advance.

Qualifications, skills and knowledge requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication and time management skills
  • Ability and desire to work independently on research tasks
  • Experience in academic research is a plus
  • Experience in any of the following is a plus: Immigration reform, state level politics, k-12 education, education finance, economics, political science, health care policy, public health, law
  • Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus

Policy Research Internship Application

Research & Development Intern

A Research and Development Intern is responsible for supporting staff by helping with accounting, reports and data analysis. Additional responsibilities may include supporting diverse constituency engagement activities and special events organization, drafting blog posts and talking points, and developing special reports, info-graphics and other communications assets.

Key responsibilities and specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Quantitative data analysis
  • Writing reports
  • Writing and editing content for CLLARO used in social media
  • Conducting Grant research
  • Coordinating and executing special projects as assigned

Qualifications/skills and knowledge requirements:

  • Strong analytic and mathematical skills
  • Must be well-organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and proficient in the use of standard office equipment and computer software (i.e. all MS Office applications).
  • Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, prioritize and maintain a pro-active attitude.
